Hügli's roots go back to 1935. This unique heritage continues to shape the way we develop our business today.

1935

Foundation by B. Stoffel

Beat Stoffel founds the Hügli company. Company manager and developer Otto Hügli was allowed to give the company his name. This laid the foundation for a long success story that began with a pioneering achievement: "Brodox", the first industrially produced bouillon cube.

1936

Ready to cook soups

Start of sales of ready-to-cook soups. At the time, an absolute novelty for the company and the food industry.

1959

First subsidiary

Hügli founds its first subsidiary in Hard, Austria. Hügli then buys the Radolf-Werke in Radolfzell in the 1960s. Today, the largest production site of the company group is located there.


1974

Move to Steinach

Hügli moves from Arbon to the neighbouring village of Steinach, the current headquarters of the Hügli Group.


2000

International expansion

From 2000 onwards, Hügli expands into various European countries and grows through the acquisition of new companies: Bonita in Zasmuky CZ, Interplaning in Neuburg DE, Supro in St. Gallen CH, Ali-Big in Brivio IT, Contract Foods in Redditch UK, Bresc in Werkendam NL. In addition, Hügli is acquiring brands such as Vogeley, EDEN and granoVita.


2018

Bell Food Group

Hügli will become a business unit of the Bell Food Group, which is listed on the Swiss stock exchange.
